About Train Beyond The Pain
Welcome to the Home of TBTP Athletes. By definition, a TBTP Athlete is an individual who can Train Beyond The (emotional, spiritual, and/or physical) Pain to achieve their ultimate fitness goal; inspired by Isaiah 40:31. David, the first TBTP Athlete started his journey after being labeled as obese at a Dr's visit, during his senior year in H.S. He weighed 249 pounds and his body fat was over 32%. Dealing with shortness of breath, aching joints, and depression; he was close to giving up. However, he decided to fight back for his health and designed a strength and conditioning program known today as Train Beyond The Pain. The TBTP Program helped David firm and tone his physique while losing 79 pounds within 11 months!
A year after his weight loss and 2 months after the tragic events of 9/11, he committed to using his new fitness level to serve his country. He enlisted in the U.S Marines, serving 2 deployments, and upon finishing up his honorable service, he was awarded a Certificate of Commendation by his Commanding General for keeping the highest traditions in the U.S Marine Corps during Operation Iraqi Freedom. His devotion to service and duty continued to fuel his passion to help others through fitness.
By 2010, he had become a Certified Master Trainer after completing 5,000 training hours. David also earned 3 Certifications through NASM and graduated from American Military University with a Bachelor's Degree in Sports and Exercise Science. By 2021, he and other professionals teamed up to launch Train Beyond The Pain so Americans can benefit from top tier health/fitness programs. In the process, TBTP began an Academic Athletics Program that works closely with student athletes so they maintain a high GPA and earn an opportunity to play Collegiate Sports. The "TBTP mission" continues to move forward; "helping others achieve their own health and fitness goals so they too can pursue the life they dreamed of.
